Although she was immediately released when her employer verified the check was valid, she suffered a traumatic and most unfortunate experience, made all the worse because she is from another country and her first language is not English. We reject her lawsuit against the bank and the police, however, because the police officers acted reasonably in light of the information provided to them, and are therefore immune from suit, and the bank has statutory immunity under these circumstances.
